How to create a LinkedIn company page

Updated: Mar 9, 2022

Ever thought LinkedIn is just for recruitment and therefore as a company if you're not recruiting you don't need a company page?

LinkedIn is a lot more than that today. It's a very important place to network with other like minded individuals, it can also be useful for lead generation and publicity as well as recruitment. With this in mind why would you not have a company LinkedIn page as well as a personal page?

With that in mind the following few simple steps should help you set a page up easily.

Step #1

Click the “Work” icon in the top right corner of your LinkedIn homepage.

Step #2

Choose the “Create a company page” option.

step #3

Choose company from the 3 options.

step #4

Enter the Page Identity details, Company or Institution details, and Profile details.

If you are using a name that’s already in existence you will see the warning as highlighted below, think carefully depending on the stage of your business, if you should change the company name to make it easier to find rather than just amend the URL. If the name is already taken on LinkedIn its probably taken as a website address also.

Add website address if available, this will allow visitors to link straight through to your website. Complete the other drop down menus, add the company logo if it's available also. You will see a summary of the information building on the right as you complete the sections.

Step #5

Once complete, tick to say you are an authorised representative allowed to create the page and then click create page.

Step #6

This is your basic page complete and visible. You can edit at any time you see fit and post from here as well as comment as the company on other posts.

Your page initially will look similar to below.

You can easily add a cover image from any image on your PC or from the web by clicking the pencil circled in the top right. You can also view the page as anyone else in LinkedIn will see it using the view as member button.

Success-Your Company page is complete!

Following these steps should make creating a LinkedIn company page easy. You can now have employees link to the page and start increasing awareness of your company using this platform.
